Email - SMTP Server in Indonesia

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (Outgoing Mail), email users used this protocol to send an email. In Indonesia have some several growing internet service providers, includes GSM/CDMA operator. If you have more than one mobile operator to access the Internet maybe you will confuse for correct SMTP that you must use. Please follow information below.

We can use MS DOS to check available SMTP Server
  1. Press Start Menu and Choose Run or use combination hotkey Windows Logo + R
  2. Type cmd, press Enter
  3. Type nslookup, press Enter
  4. Type set type=mx
  5. Type domain name or SMTP server name (if you already know the SMTP server), e.g telkomsel.com

    soalnya saya incoming nya pakai cbn, outgoing nya pake modem three..

  3. opss.. ternyata ganti mx.three.co.id 25, tapi smtp ini ga open relay dan kebetulan saya blom pernah coba dijaringan cbn. btw bisa diatur ya pop dan smtp pake connection yg berbeda?

  4. Mas bro... saya sudah setting email kantor di handphone android utk outgoing nya selalu gagal. Internet saya di handphone dgn karti Axis.
    Incoming : mail.(domain kantor)
    Port: 110 >>> berhasil
    Outgoing : mail.(domain kantor)
    TLS port 587 >>> failed

    Pd hal setting diatas bisa diterapkan di pc kantor dan berhasil semua. Mohon penjelasannya...

  5. Untuk koneksi enkripsi TLS, biasanya diminta untuk menggunakan autentikasi sama seperti incoming. Untuk di Androin, apa sudah di centang require sign-in.

    SMTP: smtp.domainkantor
    Port: 587
    Security type: pilih “SSL (accept all certificates)”)
    Centang Require sign-in
    User name: (alamatemail@domainkantor)
    Password: password

    Jika masih failed, coba tanya ke mail administrator di kantor anda, apakah smtp email kantor port 587 dibuka untuk dapat diakses dari internet atau tidak.

    Umtuk mengetes apakah mail server anda support TLS/SSL, caranya seperti ini:

    - Buka Command Prompt (Start - Run - ketik cmd - enter)
    - Ketik telnet smtp.domainkantor 587
    - Enter
    - Jika berhasil masuk ke server, ketik ehlo kemudian tekan enter
    - Jika tampilannya keluar seperti dibawah ini ada baris 250-STARTTLS, berarti mail server kantor anda support TLS.

    Note: Pada saat melakukan telnet, jangan gunakan koneksi yang sama dengan koneksi kantor anda. Coba lakukan dari rumah, atau gunakan usb modem AXIS/dll

    Kalau tidak bisa berarti SMTP server kantor anda belum dibuat untuk support TLS/SSL. Solusinya pakai SMTP Server AXIS

  6. saya juga sudah mencoba dengan wifi kantor dengan setting di HP Android disamakan dengan setting di laptop (wifi) namun outgoing tetap ga bisa.
    Error: server does not support TLS

    terakhir saya menggunakan jaringan Axis dengan setting outgoing :
    SMTP: mail.axisworld.co.id
    Port: 25
    Error: unable to connect to server

    Sekedar informasi:
    sebelumnya saya pake telkomsel bisa dengan setting outgoing server :
    smtp : mail.(domain kantor)
    Port : 587 auto

    Ketika saya ganti dengan Axis sebenarnya tidak ada error dalam checking server setting, namun waktu sending email ga bisa dan email masih di outbox dengan status failed.

    saya sudah contact ke bagian Admin IT, bilangnya kalau pake seluler ada yang minta disesuaikan dengan setting provider.

  7. Kang Sigit, mohon maaf saya belum bisa menjawab permasalahan akang saat ini, karena saya sudah tidak menggunakan Axis lagi setelah orang tua saya kembali dari Mekkah dan saya juga bukan pengguna Android. Tapi mungkin Kang Sigit bisa menanyakan ke forum berikut ini

    Saya coba berasumsi karena Android didevelop pada platform yang lahir dari Google, mungkin Kang Sigit bisa menggunakan SMTP punya gmail, SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
    TLS
    Port 587
    Authentication-nya menggunakan email address dan password gmail punya Kang Sigit.

    Kalo alternatif dari saya ini belum berhasil, silakan untuk bertanya ke forum - forum diatas, sebaiknya ke Axis dulu, karena menurut cerita Kang Sigit waktu menggunakan operator Telkomsel tidak ada masalah. Kalau sudah ada solusinya dan tidak keberatan, boleh share solusinya diblog ini, agar bisa digunakan sebagai referensi pengguna Axis dan Android yang punya masalah yang sama dengan Kang Sigit.
